Reduces or eliminates bubbles or vapor barrier that form on hot metal surfaces to reduce coolant temperatures by up to 20°Water Wetter works by reducing the surface tension of the water/coolant mixture. Some basics -- water is the most efficient coolant you can use in your engine. Water alone will transfer more heat faster than anti-freeze will. The problem with water is that it boils at 212 deg. F. You can increase that temperature somewhat by adding pressure (the pressure cap on your system), but it still boils at a relatively low temperature. The other problem with water is that it is corrosive. Also, it freezes at 32 deg. F. Not good things for cars. Moreover, for the forum in which they talked about the water wetter’s significance, customers put a water bottle wetter in their MB FD and saw no difference in the temperature. They believed the water wetter would lower the temperature by 10 degrees but didn’t get the desired result. Not practical https://cdn.opieoils.co.uk/images/variants/medium/redline/red-line-waterwetter-super-coolant-additive-355ml-bottle-5.jpg Another option to consider if the car is a National level dual use car or dedicated racer is to upgrade the cooling system (all or in part)

Then there's a better chance of deciding if it's going to help the cooling in a particular situation. it also is NOT an anti-corrosive radiator fluid additive. using water wetter and water alone in an engine will cause bad corrision things to happen over time. you will get as much corrosion and rust as if you wan water alone. After adding a water wetter to their coolant due to annual service, some customers said that after running their car engine for long, the expansion tank’s bottom emits a brown deposit that the company Redline said is only normal. https://cdn.opieoils.co.uk/images/variants/large/redline/red-line-waterwetter-super-coolant-additive-355ml-bottle-5.jpg

For most cars, the best compromise is a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and water, with a bottle of Water Wetter added for good measure. If you want more cooling, and you're not worried about freeze-up in cold weather, you can go as high as 70/30 water to anti-freeze, depending on the anti-freeze, and still get better boiling point and corrosion protection. YMMV, but be sure to read the instructions on the label of your anti-freeze and follow manufacturer recommendations. I used a VagCom system (reads sensor data directly from the ECU) for my tests. The pre-WaterWetter® installation delivered temperatures between 96 and 98 degrees centigrade (or 205 to 208 degrees Fahrenheit for the Americans). The post-installation temperature stayed steady at 96 degrees centigrade. Clearly, not the results advertised.https://cdn.opieoils.co.uk/images/variants/icon/redline/red-line-waterwetter-super-coolant-additive-355ml-bottle-2.jpg The forum also talked about water wetter for automobiles. They’re mesmerized by the result! They highly recommend using a water wetter because it brings no problems with rust or gunk, no antifreeze, just straight distilled water and water wetter alone. It worked. Common water wetter issues I posted this in the Pettit Super Charger post, but I'd like to expand it and clarify for the general population. And Benefit #2, yes it is better than glycol based antifreeze. But your best heat transfer is going to be with straight water, so adding any glycol will always reduce the heat transfer.
