The best was the ending, nice to see that they could live happy and do what they always yearned for.

Don't get me wrong this is still a great book, it's Sherri and we finally got a story for Jayne but I was kinda hoping for more when we did get her story. Waddick’s issue is filled with action, character development (for Giaris), and a rock-solid cliffhanger. This one quickly spun out of control for Jayne when her simple find and bring back assignment went to kill and in a very messy way. Granted, Shahara and Syn were thrown together too (Born of Fire), as well as Caillen and Desederia (Born of Shadows), BUT they all had time to develop and deepen a relationship between them. Also trying to place the time frame of events into timing of prior books (ie: is Nyk still with the League or already out?There was so much back and forth court drama and politics, for the most part, it felt like that’s all there was. Like the previous two books, this is short, although it's the longest of the three (Eve of Destruction, Born of Rage, Born of Blood), it still suffers from the lack of length to develop both characters and story. The action and adventure coupled by the meaningful friendships and romance all packed together to make for a really compelling listen. The cameo appearance of a few of the superstars of the leagues previous books not only does not save this dreary novella it glaringly shows how far this series has fallen.

I’m hesitant right now to add anymore details, but I can potentially add them in if that’s what people prefer. To her, there is no truth outside of her blaster’s recoil and her resolve to let no one get too close. So while interesting and enjoyable it was also lacking something, perhaps due to it being a novella rather than a full novel, but not sure. When last we left Giaris and Leonidas, they barely survived to escape from capture and torture when they learned Aurelia was the mastermind behind the coup for the Spartan throne. I will admit to feeling a bit frustrated and disappointed that this final book goes political with a sudden LGBT push that's just thrown in with two separate couples that are friends to or cousins to Kalina and just like Star Wars final celebration scene had to push it, but in terms of romance out side of kissing between couples but there are no sex scenes. But after losing his Queen who only offered him one heir, his daughter Giaris, he's decided he must put her through a baptism of fire to prepare her to one day take his place in defending Sparta.

I'm giving it 4 because I believe Jayne Erixour and Alexos Hadrian Vicarius Scalera deserved their own full length book. Scott Gac’s ambitious and passionate book traces the emergence of a particularly American idea of when, why, for whom and against whom the powerful, and particularly the government, ought to use violence. Although the game contains plenty of Zombie smashing already in the form of a Horde mode, the open world survival experience offered on 'The Island' map will take some time to complete so whilst we continue construction, we can improve the gameplay/gunplay by opening it up to the public. Another great league book by the exceptional author Sherrilyn Kenyon this author has gone through her own trials and tribulations which she embues her characters with making them undeniably believable, I can’t recommend this book enough and can only hope that Sherri continues to give us these wonderful stories to enrich our lives and souls.
